Invented to seek attention
Lies, oh despicable lies
One day I’ll drown in metaphors
Please be sure to sympathise

But while you show me this concern
Who'll be looking out for her
Blood curdling screams from my mouth
She is nil by mouth and verse

I have cried wolf so many times
She can’t even cry her own tears
My lies are spun in silk cobwebs
My spinneret shrouding your ears

I spoon fed you daily doses
So it was easier to digest
I planted those seeds of sorrow
Your fertile mind did the rest

Lies, all those despica

A Self-created Fantasy.I am the master of my destiny
No one shall carve my way but I.
I am the leader of my dreams
I am responsible if I live or die.

I am the creator of my madness,
the father of my desperation.
The maker of my fears
the fuel to self-made validation.

I reap my own rewards
for the work I have completed
the one broken and forlorn
when my riches were depleted.

I am the prophet of my beliefs
choosing which way to follow
The compass of my morals
I'm to blame if I'm hollow.

I am the keeper of my pride
for the good deeds I claim to give.
The martyr at my own cross
for the way I chose to live.

I am the maker of my destiny,

The moon is rising once again
And here you are, my dear best friend
Take my hand and feel my grace
Let's make haste and leave no trace

In this gentle night of calm
Place your hand onto my arms
Through the trees there is this space
Heaven watches; we embrace

Feel the passion; just imagine
All the good things that can happen
Like a dream, I'll paint the scene
As we follow star shine's beam

Let's keep walking; always talking
Ignore the shadows haunt and stalking
I'm not complaining that it's raining
The scene is stunning like a painting

Leave it like a ripped up rag

R.I.P WordsDo you know what it feels like?
To feel something, but...
be unable to express what it is;
to be silent;
to fight it alone.

I know how much it hurts,
but I don't know how to show it.
Poetry used to be my refuge,
a place where I could be alone -
express all my emotions,
without being judged.

I'm losing it.
I can't connect to poetry.
Everything sounds so stupid...
Everything I write sounds stupid.
I have to erase all my feelings,
because they don't sound right.

The words aren't real.
They don't show what I feel
And maybe this will be the last.
Maybe I'm gone:
lost of all emotions.
I'm truly alone...
I used to have poetry.

Now I have not

Change Begins TodayLittle girl in her room,
Bunched in her blankets,
Crying as her parents act so cruel,
'How long is she going to take it?'

Little boy on the stairway,
Watches his dad take another swig
Of the poison he knew would separate them
'Is this how I'll be when I get big?'

He stares at himself in the mirror,
Wishing the image was clearer.
Pops another pill,
As in walks his little girl,
'I hope she'll be different.'

She uses make-up for a reason,
To cover up the pain she's feeling,
The black and blue he leaves behind.
'Maybe I'm just not a good wife.'

We all suffer pain,
We all feel hate,
But no matter what we face,
Change begins to

I guarantee everyone is a poet
But I am willing to bet not many know it
Forming a poem is a simple task
Just string words on paper that seem to mask
Your hidden feelings on a certain subject
Or how you wish this world could be perfect

Not all poems have to be deep in meaning
And indeed even the simplest poems can be quite deceiving
This poem for example exists
Without any misdirection or twists
The focus of this poem is to provide
A helpful little guide
On how to write the absolute best
And bring out the skills everyone does possess

At the end of the final chapter
Most stories end happily after
Enchanted evenings; dreams coming true
Believing in magic; it could happen to you

Fairy tales fuel our dormant fires
Romantic films quench our inner desires
Demons become friends; fun times never end
Must be nice to live in a realm of pretend

That's not how things work in the real world
The hero doesn't always win his girl
People pass away; buildings crumble and fall
Cinderella's mice in reality would be mauled

Teacups don't sing; at least none that I know
Carpets can't glide through the wind's blow
Crabs do not dance; that is really absurd
Animals can't talk; at

Sadly AloneLoneliness and sorrow were sitting at the park
When sorrow noticed it started getting dark
So he leaned down to lonileness and he said
"I'm going to go home, and cry in my bed"

Loneliness shook her head, and whispered a plea
"Just a little longer, would you stay here with me?"
With that said, sorrow wouldn't leave just yet
They both sat and watched as the sun began to set

Then loneliness said, in a cheerful tone
"when you are with me I'm not so alone"
Sorrow laughed gently and said with pure glee
"when we are together you make me happy"

So happiness and friendship sat at the park
After the night became very dark
They spoke with each other

I think we should change

Remember when the only thing to do in the morning
Was lay in bed and watch cartoons?
Nothing else then seemed important
And we didn't get out of bed until noon.

Remember when after school every day
We would play tag in the park?
We couldn't be told what to say
And we'd run around like fools until dark

But now that we've become older
Making transitions to new frames of mind
Life is weighing down like boulders
And things suddenly aren't as fine

We can't help but think; we can't help but worry
Some say life will just begin
But it seems no matter how fast we hurry
We're in a race we just can't win

We're in a tunnel that has no l

I met you in fourth grade
I got to know you well
You had problems at home
Stuck there like a lawn gnome.

Helping first worked out well
Then you got in a bind
You crawled out of your war
Things weren't right in your mind.

You yearned to yell at me
I stood there like a tree
In hard situations
Our friendship: let it be!

Through this we grew apart
I gave you one last chance
You stabbed me in the heart
You stabbed me with your lance.

Words Hurt

Hit me one more time
Hit me again
Push me around
On the floor
Down the stairs
It hurts less than your words
So kick me
Bruise my skin
But don’t call me names
‘Worthless, ugly’
It causes too much pain
I love you I really do
I’ll take the abuse
And be your punch bag
But please keep your words
My head can’t take it
My mind won’t survive
The truth....
It destroys me.

That is quite brutal and savage. Physical abuse is so distressing but words can sting even more. People find it hard to walk away from a relationship despite the abuse. It is all quite sad. A powerful, emotional piece of verse. Well done.

yes the other day my dad said he wanted nothing to do with me and life is better without me there. i dont really like him for what he put me through but... it still hurt especially cuz he's my dad
